Tallmadge Truck Tire Service, Inc., was started in 1932 by Emil Tallmadge of Cortland, NY. Tallmadge traveled the Cortland area regrooving tires for car dealers. After the war, in 1947, Tallmadge built the Tallmadge Tire location on the corner of Homer and Groton in Cortland, NY. In 1963, Tallmadge Truck Tire Service, Inc., was sold to G. Edward "Ted" Grant. Grant was a former Firestone man with his sights set on expansion. The second location on  West Clinton St.  Ithaca, NY  was added in 1971. It was moved to the current location at 358 Elmira Rd in 1982. This location was owned by Dick Flaville until 1996, when it was purchased by head mechanic Jim Whitaker. Jim has successfully expanded the business from a tire store into a full service tire shop and automotive repair facility.You can see a partial list of our services on our Home Page.
HOURS OF OPERATION

  • M-F 7:30 am -5:00 pm
  • Sat 7:30 am - Until the last car is done, or Noon    whichever comes first
  • Closed Sunday
Appointments recommended, Drop-ins taken on a first come first serve basis as time allows.
